When Actress Vanessa Bell Calloway stepped onto the silver screen as Princess Imani Izzi in 1988’s blockbuster hit, “Coming to America”, she hit the ground running and never looked back. This talented woman has made her mark on the stage, film, television, voiceover and web series mediums. She needed an official website that would not only showcase her extensive body of work, but would also allow her to blog on her interests and personal projects.

Because of the artistic nature of her work, Ms. Calloway preferred a modern and fluid web design. The finished result is a very visual site that relies heavily on imagery for the navigation. The responsive design flows gracefully on various screen widths, which guarantees an effective and aesthetically pleasing layout on all mobile devices, including touch screens.

She requested a logo that was elegant and feminine, yet bold and dynamic. We achieved this result by using a delicate, scripted typeface and extruding it for a 3-dimensional feel. We then used shadows and gradients to give it added dimension. The end result is reminiscent of a Hollywood marquis with a definitive modern twist.
