After I read the screenplay, I knew I wanted to be a part of this project. Keenan had already assembled a talented team of creatives and was in need of a web developer and a social media specialist. In addition to the website, the 360 team was responsible for creating the logo, business cards, and the Facebook fan page. Because the Kingsland team was an artistic bunch, we worked very well together in bringing the vision to life. 360 had worked with the client on two other projects, so we were able to easily anticipate his needs and define his style proactively.
Though some of his team members lived in other cities, the Starbucks teleconferences with the locals were always productive, and offered a welcome respite from our normal routine. We hope that Kings of the Dust will fulfill its goal of raising public awareness of the little known extension of slavery known as convict leasing. Despite the controversial undercurrent, the plot is strengthened by a love story that demonstrates the truth of the old adage “love conquers all”.
